Context
Previous Community Education and Digital Literacy Engagements
Before founding Citizen Social Contract, our founder facilitated and participated in multiple digital literacy initiatives, technology education programs, entrepreneurship workshops, internet safety trainings, and SME capacity-building activities across different communities and educational environments.
These engagements focused on improving digital skills, expanding technology access, promoting responsible internet use, supporting small businesses, and helping individuals participate more effectively in the digital economy.
The lessons learned through these initiatives helped shape CSC's broader mission of strengthening civic literacy, digital inclusion, public participation, and responsible use of technology and AI.

Digital Skills and Community Training Experience
Our founder previously facilitated digital skills training initiatives through partner-led educational programs, independent community outreach efforts, and entrepreneurship-focused learning engagements.
These activities included training individuals, students, entrepreneurs, and small business owners on topics such as digital literacy, internet safety, online opportunities, productivity tools, technology adoption, digital marketing fundamentals, and business growth strategies.
Collectively, these engagements reached more than 10,000 learners and contributed to improving digital confidence, economic participation, and technology awareness within different communities.
Our founder previously facilitated digital skills training initiatives through partner-led programs within the Grow with Google Digital Skills ecosystem.

From Digital to Civic Literacy
How this experience inspired CSC.
Years of community education and digital literacy work revealed an important reality: access to technology alone is not enough. People also need access to trustworthy information, civic knowledge, public accountability tools, and practical understanding of how institutions affect their daily lives.
These experiences helped inspire the creation of Citizen Social Contract — an initiative dedicated to expanding civic literacy, strengthening public understanding of governance, promoting informed participation, and using responsible technology and AI to improve access to knowledge and opportunity across Africa.
